A Simple Act Elevates All
Melrose, MA (December 23, 2010) - Everyone was waiting for Rudy. On Tuesday night, Patty and Rick Parker were in their cramped kitchen with their 8-year old son Ben. Dinner was over. Bedtime was near. Ben's twin brother, Sammy, lay on a cot in the narrow hallway just outside the kitchen. Unable to see, or speak, or control his limbs, he coughed or let out a little moan now and then.

Catholic Schools Foundation announces $125k to LCA
Lawrence, MA – (September 12, 2010) – Mike Reardon, Executive Director of the Catholic Schools Foundation, announced a $125,000 grant to the newly opened Lawrence Catholic Academy at the school’s celebration Mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence this morning. The funding will be used to enhance the curriculum and environment of the newly established Academy.
“This grant, along with our recent gift of $300,000 for scholarship support, is a testament to our belief in the students and teachers at Lawrence Catholic Academy.”, said Mr. Reardon following the announcement. “We are proud to partner with LCA to make a first-class Catholic education available to these students and families.”
LCA is located at the former location of St. Patrick’s School at 101 Parker Street and is signifies a long term commitment to Catholic education in the City of Lawrence.
The first day of school for students was September 8th.

9th Annual Back to School Cup raises over $100,000 for the Inner-City Scholarship Fund
Milton, MA - On Monday, October 4th at Wollaston Golf Club, over $100,000 was raised for the Inner-City Scholarship Fund (ICSF) through the 9th Annual Back to School Cup Golf Tournament. The tournament was presented by Boston based law firm, Prince Lobel Glovsky & Tye LLP. A full field of golfers braved the damp weather to support the ICSF, a signature program of the Catholic Schools Foundation (CSF), which distributes scholarships to at-risk students attending Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Boston.
The tournament was a shotgun format followed by a dinner sponsored by BTMU Capital Corporation. During the dinner program, CSF Executive Director, Mike Reardon, thanked all event participants and assured them of the importance of their support. "Last year we distributed approximately 5,000 scholarships to students. Nearly 13,000 students applied for our aid. Your support means that we will be able to help more and more students." Mr. Reardon also expressed his gratitude towards Steve Principe of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney who served as chairman of the event, and his fellow committee members.
Other sponsors of the Back to School Cup included CSF Executive Council member, Richard F. Connolly of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Bingham Mccutchen, Atlantic Trust Company, Gouldston and Storrs, Windward Investment Management & Richards Barry Joyce.
Funds from the event will be focused towards the ICSF's Hispanic Recruitment Initiative which aids Hispanics in Boston who are looking to attend Catholic School.
