CSF Gala Video featuring EBCCS Scholars

April 16th, 2024

This year East Boston Central Catholic (EBCCS) was featured in CSF's 34th Annual Building Minds Scholarship Fund Gala video.

Watch the video below to hear directly from CSF's scholars and what they want to be when they grow up.

William, 3rd Grade (0:00:05-0:00:25):

My future in my brain right now is making me think of what I'm going to be when I grow up. Because I want to be an architect, so like, if the homeless need something, I can build something for them.

My name is William. I go to school at East Boston Central Catholic, and I'm in the 3rd grade.

Helena 2nd Grade (0:00:27-0:00:38):

When I grow up, I would like to be a doctor because I would help people with care.

Adrian 1st Grade (0:00:38-0:00:44):

If I can't play basketball, then I'll be an artist. Because I'm good at art.

Sarahi, 4th Grade (0:00:45-0:00:49):

I'd like to be an FBI agent because I think it's about solving crimes.

Camila, 6th Grade (0:00:50-0:01:00):

I want to be a robotic engineer. I want to build robots. So, why I want to be, like, a robotic engineer is because I want to help people when I grow up and help by using robots.

Carlos, 8th Grade (0:01:00-0:01:07):

When I was six years old, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew I kind of wanted to, like, help people.

Bobby Casaletto, Principal at EBCCS (0:01:08-0:01:21):

When we prepare our students, our goal here is to prepare them academically, 100%, but the ultimate goal is for them to be good people. To really empower them to serve and to achieve.

Sarahi, 4th Grade (0:01:22-0:01:25):

My favorite thing about this school is getting to be with all my friends.

Pablo, 1st Grade (0:01:26-0:01:33):

My favorite thing is to play outside and have fun with my friends and play games.

Camila, 6th Grade (0:01:33-0:01:45):

I love all the people and all my classmates. They're really nice and when I'm having struggles with math and stuff like that, my teachers come and help me. I love the environment of the people.

Helena 2nd Grade (0:01:46-0:01:52):

The people like to be nice.  Kind, love and care.

Carlos, 8th Grade (0:01:52-0:02:02):

So, when I think of East Boston Central Catholic, I tell people it's family. Family in the sense of support and love and caring and anything you can think of. We're all here for each other.

Helena 2nd Grade (0:02:02 -0:02:09):

What I like about reading is reading chapter books because it really gets my brain more smarter.

Luciana, 3rd Grade (0:02:09 -0:02:14):

I like science because you get to study, and you get to see new things.

Bobby Casaletto, Principal at EBCCS (0:02:15-0:02:32):

50 percent of our students, their tuition is assisted by the Catholic Schools Foundation scholarships. Take away 50 percent of our school and we cannot afford to operate every day. The Catholic Schools Foundation allows us to do what we do.

Without the Catholic Schools Foundation, we would not be here.

Luisantonio, 8th Grade (0:02:33 -0:02:51):

I am very grateful for being a GO Scholar and I hope in the future, I will be able to give back to this school that has given me so much and help other students in their future careers.  I'm really blessed to have it and I'm glad.

Carlos, 8th Grade (0:02:52 -0:03:08):

With the help of my teachers and classmates, but especially because of the help of the Catholic Schools Foundation and their support in my education, East Boston Central Catholic has prepared me for anything that comes my way.

I'm in 8th grade, I will be graduating this spring, and I will be going to St. John's Prep.

Simon, 2nd Grade (0:03:08 -0:03:12):

The school is getting me ready for the future.

Luciana, 3rd Grade (0:03:13-0:03:17):

The school is getting me ready for the future. My goal is to go to college, get good grades and get a scholarship.

Luisantonio, 8th Grade (0:03:18-0:03:24):

I feel that this school has absolutely prepared me for the future in high school and beyond.

Simon, 2nd Grade (0:03:25-0:03:27):

I believe I have a bright future.

Camila, 6th Grade (0:03:27-0:03:29):

I do feel like I have a bright future here.

Luisantonio, 8th Grade (0:03:30-0:03:32):

I do believe that my future is bright.

Bobby Casaletto, Principal at EBCCS (0:03:32-0:03:47):

I love being here every day. It's one of those, sometimes it's a little corny to say it, but if you love what you do, you don't work a day in your life.  I love what I do. So, I don't go to work every day, I go to school every day.  With a smile.

Carlos, 8th Grade (0:03:47-0:03:53):

The success we get is because of the people that helped us. So, we should help others so they can also be successful.

William 3rd Grade (0:03:53-0:04:00):

I believe I do have a bright future because there are good people in the world. So good people can help us.
