Scholarships
Building Minds Scholarships
Through its signature program, the Building Minds Scholarship Fund (formerly the Inner-City Scholarship Fund), the Catholic Schools Foundation assists low-income families who wish to send their children to Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Boston but are unable to afford tuition. CSF has distributed more than $100 million in scholarship aid to over sixty thousand students over the past three decades.
Continuum Scholarships
The Continuum Scholarship program promotes a K-12 Catholic school education for students in targeted communities. Scholarships are awarded to financially in-need middle school students at participating elementary Catholic schools and follow students all the way through to their high school graduation at participating high schools, creating a clear pathway to a high-quality Catholic education.
Emergency Funds
The Emergency Fund provides meaningful scholarship support to families who are experiencing unforeseen circumstances that cause a financial burden on the family and impact their ability to pay tuition. Schools use the Emergency Fund process to apply on behalf of their families throughout the year, ensuring students are able to continue with their education despite family hardships.
Hispanic Recruitment Initiative
The Hispanic Recruitment Initiative and New Immigrant Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for students from low-income, new immigrant communities to attend high-quality Catholic schools in the greater-Boston area. Since 2008, this scholarship program has responded to the changing demographics of the Church and greater Boston communities. In addition to scholarship funding, it ensures hands-on support for families and schools. Today over 30% of CSF’s scholarship recipients are Hispanic.
Horizons
Through the Horizons Scholarship Program, the Catholic Schools Foundation partners with Horizons for Homeless Children to provide families experiencing housing instability access to a high-quality, community-based Catholic school that provides academic success in a stable, supportive environment. This initiative provides family support, student enrichment, and meaningful scholarships (up to 90% of tuition) that are guaranteed every year until the student graduates from 8th grade, providing another level of security for vulnerable children and their families.
GO Scholars
The Guaranteeing Opportunities or GO Program will provide 15 Catholic Schools Foundation Scholar awards to financially in-need students graduating from CSF Sponsored elementary Schools. One student at each CSF Sponsored Elementary School will be selected by his or her current school leader to receive this award equaling $8,500 per year per student for tuition assistance at a Catholic high school in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston (RCAB).
Donors of this program are matched one-to-one with students or students and receive updates and information on their sponsored student(s )throughout the year, including opportunities to meet.
Inspiration Scholars
The High School Inspiration Scholarship Program is a merit and need-based program designed to change the lives of the brightest and most in-need Catholic elementary school graduates. The High School Inspiration Scholarship fund will provide up to 20 scholarships of $10,000 each or the full cost of tuition (whichever is less) to selected high-performing, financially in-need 8th graders who attend Catholic elementary schools and are accepted at select high schools in the Archdiocese of Boston.
