We are proud to announce that Dr. Mary Walsh, founder of the City Connects program, has been honored with the Bellarmine Award by Boston College. Under the Mary E. Walsh Center for Thriving Children, the City Connects program has positively impacted 50,000 under-resourced children in Massachusetts, eight other states, and Ireland. Supported by the Catholic Schools Foundation since 2008, 15 elementary Catholic schools serving at-risk students in the Archdiocese of Boston utilize the program, benefiting 4,750 students annually. The program's reach has expanded to include Revere, Lynn, Malden, Somerville, and Framingham, with plans to expand to Lowell. Dr. Walsh's commitment to education and serving in-need students has been recognized, and Boston College continues to be a valuable partner.

Today is #GivingTuesday!
This is a day of global generosity, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities.
#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good. Over the last decade, this day has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give and celebrate generosity.
Today, CSF is thrilled to participate in #GivingTuesday with the goal of raising support through our Scholarship Angels Program.
Scholarship Angels are individuals who take part in our monthly giving program and make it possible for a child to attend a Catholic elementary or high school by providing ongoing support through a reliable, steady stream of income.
With your help, we can reach our #GivingTuesday goal of building our monthly giving program. As a Scholarship Angel, you ensure that CSF scholars receive the aid they need month after month without disruption or ever having to worry about leaving a school they love because of financial concerns.
Through this program, you can support students every Tuesday, each and every month!

The Catholic Schools Foundation is proud to support the teachers and school leaders who continue to put students first. 92% of Catholic schools were open for in-person learning during the pandemic and all Catholic schools continued to put students first.
The recently published 2022 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as “The Nation’s Report Card,” show that this decision had significant positive benefits for students. Catholic schools emerged as a bright spot in the NAEP report where they outperformed public and charter schools in reading and mathematics and have the highest scores in the nation on all four NAEP tests. Empirical evidence of the positive impact of putting students first.
This report is a testament to the school leaders and teachers who put young people first every day. Donors to CSF make the life-changing opportunity of a Catholic education available for students who would not otherwise be able to afford it. Your support helps pave the way for students to achieve their dreams through a solid educational foundation. You can read about it here!

Today is the LAST day to double your impact on Ukrainian students now attending our great Catholic schools! So far we have raised just over $45K and need your help by midnight tonight to get to the $50,000 mark!
So far this month we've met Max, Sofia, and Milana, three students forced to flee their homes in Ukraine. They are just a few of the students affected by the war in Ukraine. Without the vital support they've received, these students would not be receiving a high-quality education at local Catholic schools. However, there are many students and families who find themselves in sudden financial distress due to being displaced by the war and other emergent events.

"Catholic schools have been a pipeline to opportunity for generations," -Justice Sonia Sotomayor
At CSF, every week is Catholic Schools Week. For over 30 years, we have operated on one simple idea: every child, regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, or nation of origin, deserves a chance at a high-quality education.
We are overjoyed to join in honoring the great work of our local Catholic schools. In the midst of a global pandemic, they continue to thrive. They have set the standard for safe and effective in-person learning.

Our tour guide at @bostoncollege yesterday shared this quote with CSF students: “There are three types of people in the world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened.” The students who attended the BC tour yesterday are the type of people who make things happen. Gathering information about BC, the application and financial aid process and learning about what it means to be a first generation college student- all of these things will make things happen for them.
The tour was organized by Patrick Murtaugh (@daddymurt), CSF Young Leaders Council Member and BC alum. Patrick is passionate about sharing his love for BC and helping provide access for low-income students to learn about and attend BC.
The schools who participated are: @achscougars, @awhsbishops, @saintjosephprep, @matignonhs, @cardinalspellmanhighschool and @stjohnsprep
Thank you, BC and Patrick! #icsfboston
