Meet the Catholic Schools Foundation's 2025 Young Leader Gala Chairs

February 18th, 2025

The Catholic Schools Foundation (CSF) Young Leader Committee is a dynamic group of young professionals in Boston who are passionate about making a difference! They raise funds and awareness for CSF, support students through mentoring and industry tours, and play a key role in fundraising for CSF’s biggest event, the Building Minds Scholarship Fund Gala.

Meet CSF’s 2025 Young Leader Gala Chairs, Madeline Coady and Albert La Valle. Along with the other members of the committee, they have been going the extra mile by working to raise $100,000 for the event in addition to driving attendance and awareness to the event within their respective networks.

Madeline Coady, Tax Manager, PwC

Madeline (Maddy) is a Manager in PwC'as Financial Services - Tax Reporting & Strategy practice. She collaborates with clients to get the most out of their tax functions by optimizing processes, integrating advanced technology, and leveraging data for accurate reporting and strategic decision-making.

A proud product of Catholic education, Maddy attended local Catholic schools and earned her degree from the University of Notre Dame. Her family has deep ties to St. John's Prep in Danvers, with her brother as a third-generation graduate. Since 2023, Maddy has been a member of the Catholic Schools Foundation's Young Leader Committee and co-leads PwC's initiatives to bring financial literacy to local Catholic
schools in collaboration with the CSF.

In her free time, Maddy enjoys gluten-free baking, cheering for Notre Dame, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

1. Why did you decide to get involved with CSF?
My introduction to the Catholic Schools Foundation dates back to my days as an elementary school student during Catholic Schools Week. I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to attend Catholic schools, which have been instrumental in shaping who I am today. When the chance arose to represent PwC in bringing financial literacy to local Catholic schools and to join the Catholic Schools Foundation's Young
Leader Committee, I knew it was a perfect fit for my passions and values.

2. What is your favorite thing about CSF?
What I admire most about the Catholic Schools Foundation is its commitment to providing children from all walks of life with access to a world-class education. My time at Notre Dame allowed me to delve into Catholic Social Teaching, which emphasizes the importance of caring for society's most vulnerable. Being a small part of an organization that embodies this principle in our local Catholic schools is a true privilege.

3. What do you like about the Young Leader Committee?
I am grateful to collaborate with a group of accomplished young leaders who share a passion for ensuring that the next generation receives opportunities equal to or greater than our own. It's inspiring to work alongside individuals who are so dedicated to making a difference.

4. Why do you think people should consider getting involved with the Young Leader Committee?
The Young Leader Committee offers a unique opportunity to be a catalyst for change in the greater Boston community. It's a chance to witness firsthand the transformative impact a world-class education can have on children, regardless of a potential committee member’s faith.

5. What is your favorite thing about CSF’s annual gala?
I absolutely love the cocktail hour at the gala, where you can interact with scholars and perhaps even engage in crafts with them! It's a wonderful way to see the tangible impact the Building Minds Scholarship has on our local communities.

Albert La Valle, Investment Associate, Bain Capital

Albert La Valle is an investment associate at Bain Capital’s Partnership Strategies Fund, where he partners with world-class teams to invest in distinctive, hard-to-access opportunities across commodities trading, environmental markets, and speciality credit.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Albert attended Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. In 2020, he interned at the Chicago Archdiocese, supporting parishes in boosting engagement through COVID-19. After graduating, he joined Bain & Company as a strategy consultant, working on projects spanning industrials and private equity. He also contributed to a pro bono initiative aimed at strengthening a nonprofit’s fundraising strategy to expand access to the city’s Catholic schools.

After moving to Boston in 2023, Albert was drawn to CSF by his interest in driving student mentorship. Outside of work, he enjoys endurance sports, outdoor adventures, and passionately supporting the Chicago Cubs.

1. Why did you decide to get involved with CSF?
I had recently moved to Boston and was looking for recommendations on how to get involved in a meaningful way. Some friends were involved with CSF, and the three of us ultimately helped organize and host a career day for Junior and Senior Scholars at Bain Capital. I left the event truly impressed by the thoughtfulness of the Scholars' questions and the depth of their engagement. Moreover, that day helped bring to life the
importance of CSF’s mission and role in the community.

2. What is your favorite thing about CSF?
My favorite thing about CSF is the consistency of its impact. From its first days in the 1980s, CSF has made a difference in the lives of so many students across the greater Boston area each year. Historically, CSF seniors have achieved a 100% graduation rate, with 97% going on to attend college.

3. What do you like about the Young Leader Committee?

It's energizing to work with peers who share similar values and genuinely strive to better the lives of others. Importantly, that drive for positive impact extends to both what we aim to accomplish as well as how we intend to do so. Our group is an ambitious bunch that wants to make a real difference for the next generation. Along the way, we also enjoy spending time together, learning from one another, and building strong,
supportive relationships.

4. Why do you think people should consider getting involved with the Young Leader Committee?

The Young Leader Committee offers the unique opportunity to build enduring friendships through shared commitment and purpose. I believe that there’s a unique depth and significance to the friendships you can make when effecting real change together.

5. What is your favorite thing about CSF’s annual gala?
I’m most looking forward to seeing the broader CSF community come together to recognize and celebrate the Scholars. Having such an impressive range of folks under the same roof with a common purpose speaks to the importance of CSF’s mission in a uniquely tangible way.
